Discover how you can take action on climate change by joining the YECAP Climate Action Week 2024
The YECAP Climate Action Week 2024 is set to take place from 15-19 April 2024. This week-long virtual event promises to be an immersive experience filled with peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, capacity-building sessions, and interactive learning opportunities for young climate advocates across the Asia-Pacific region.
Hosted by the Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP), in collaboration with a diverse array of partners including UNDP, UNICEF East Asia and Pacific, UNFCCC Regional Collaboration Centre for Asia and the Pacific, and more, the YECAP Climate Action Week 2024 aims to empower youth to take the lead in addressing pressing climate issues and challenges.
The event will kick off with a series of sessions focused on well-being for changemakers, providing participants with the tools and resources they need to navigate the complexities of climate activism. Subsequent sessions will delve into the topic of green jobs and careers through the Movers Programme, exploring pathways to a sustainable future in fields such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and environmental conservation.
One of the highlights of the YECAP Climate Action Week 2024 will be discussions on the outcomes of the 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) and the road ahead to The Summit of the Future in 2024. These discussions will be complemented by insights from the Asia and the Pacific Youth Symposium (APYS), led by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as well as other key climate action opportunities for youth in the region.
The event will also feature plenary sessions, fireside chats, and panel discussions on a wide range of topics, including youth engagement in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) process, the importance of leaving no one behind in climate action, and the role of young people in driving meaningful climate conversations.
Young climate champions, changemakers, and professionals aged between 18 to 35 from diverse backgrounds are invited to participate in the YECAP Climate Action Week 2024. This event presents a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, gain valuable insights, and contribute to meaningful climate action in your community and beyond.
