About the event

YECAP is pleased to announce that together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), UN Women and International Labour Organization (ILO), we are co-organizing a Side Event during the 11th Asia-Pacific Forum for Sustainable Development on Engaging Youth in a Green and Just Economy Transition at Scale.

Come learn about:

  • The role of youth in a green and just economy transition, from engaging in green jobs, leading solutions, or co-creating programmes with stakeholders.
  • The role of all stakeholders in identifying and promoting the required green, digital, and 21st-century skills to enable decent jobs for youth.

Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform

The Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP) was established by UNDP in Asia and the Pacific in collaboration with UNFCCC RCC Asia and the Pacific, UNICEF East Asia and the Pacific, UNICEF South Asia, British Council, YOUNGO, Movers Programme, and 2030 Youth Force in response to young people across the region calling for urgent action on the climate agenda. Youth in all their diverse identities and experiences advance their climate journeys with the support from YECAP to meaningfully engage in action, advocacy, and acceleration of the movement towards a just climate future.
