Youth-Led Digital Innovations for Sustainable Development and Climate Action in Asia and the Pacific Side Event

We are delighted to invite you to join us for the side event “Youth-Led Digital Innovations for Sustainable Development and Climate Action in Asia and the Pacific” organized as part of the United Nations ESCAP 80th Commission Session! This event will take place on 23 April, 2024, from 17:30 to 18:30 (GMT +7), both in-person* at Meeting Room A, United Nations Conference Centre Bangkok, and online via Zoom and will be on the second day of the YECAP Regional Dialogue on Youth empowerment in Climate Action.

This side event is organized by UN ESCAP, YECAP, UNDP, UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, and the UNFCC RCC Asia and the Pacific. It will bring together regional youth, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss the important role of youth as digital innovators for sustainable development and climate action, as well as closing digital divides. It will further engage the panel and audience in discussion around how governments can support youth-led digital innovation. Event Objectives:

• Present key messages from recent youth-focused dialogues and events, including the 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) and the ECOSOC Youth Forum.
• Highlight youth-led digital innovations and their impact on SDGs and climate action.
• Discuss how governments can collaborate with and support youth-led innovation
• Explore measures to bridge the gender digital divide and ensure inclusivity.
